So last week my excuse was that I had a very “eventful” weekend planned. This week? Well…..no excuse this week, I just decided I wanted to go shopping. That being said, thanks to my previous “extra fun money” I didn’t end up too much over budget.
Starting Balance -$17.15
7/17 Deposit $63.00 ($45.85 left)
7/17 Collegiate Banner for my office $18.85 ($27.00 left)
7/18 Taco Bell $5.42 ($21.58 left, plus $2 cash since they screwed up the order)
7/18 Payless $16.05 ($5.53 left)
7/18 Dillards $22.76 (-$17.23 left)
7/18 Nine West $24.06 (-$41.29 left)
7/18 Extra Fun Money +$65.67 ($24.38 left)
7/21 Subway $5.35 ($19.03 left)
7/23 Groceries $24.00 (-$4.97 left)
What I ended up doing is taking some extra fun money I had stashed and using it to pay for my shopping. I was still in birthday mode in my head. So I “gifted” myself with the banner, Dillards (that was the bras, after I used my $50 Amex), and the Nine West shoes (which I wore yesterday and nearly killed my feet. =[ Good thing they're leather and I'll be able to stretch them a little.)
Yesterday I also stopped by the grocery store during my lunch break. I was only going to grab some yogurt and maybe a sandwich for lunch, but I ended up buying yogurt for all of next week, as well as Lean Cuisines since they were on sale (4 for $10!). I'm going to try not to eat them every day, and instead use them as an emergency meal for the days I forget to bring lunch. I could've bought a little less and NOT been over budget, but I reasoned with myself that LC's aren't on sale every day, and I'll probably get lazy if I don't have yogurt and eat ice cream instead. I can't do that. [I've been pigging out non-stop since two weekends ago. I'm out of hand. Seriously, for about a week all I ate for lunch was cheese sticks....the breaded kind. And ice cream...for lunch. Not good.]
I’m in a bit of withdrawal after the show, I can’t quite “afford” to pay for classes this month (since I enrolled in two flamenco classes for July), and that was poorly lined up with my being [ahem] hormonal. Bad combination, and I’m just getting out of my haze now. As soon as August starts I’ll be able to start paying for the dancing again and everything should be as it should. =] I was also excited to get back into running, but it hasn’t quite happened yet. I’ve forgotten how hard it is to start working out. Once you have that start its not too bad, but I just can’t get myself to pull out my running shoes or any workout DVDs. I may have to do this by force. Its NOT going to be pretty.
Either way, an old friend from high school is supposed to be in town this weekend!!! I can’t wait to see her! The last time she was in town we didn’t get a chance to hang out, but I hope we do get a chance this time. I can’t believe I’ve known her for OVER 12 YEARS! (That’s just the time we’ve been friends….I met her years before that, and my best friend was actually her “boyfriend” in 2nd grade, lol. Good times…so calculating from 2nd grade, I’ve “known” her for over 17 years. Yikes!) Unfortunately another friend that we used to hang out with is out of town….so no crazy antics this time around.
We were also going to be helping my sister with her new house….but they weren’t able to close on the house as scheduled. Bummer. Hopefully that will happen soon. And of course, I’m scheduled to go apartment hunting. I found a cheaper area that is not devastatingly bummy. At $900 or so, I’m willing to consider it (compared to the $1200 and up units I’ve been looking at). The area isn’t nearly as cool, or “nice”, but if I can save another $300 I think its worth it. (If it was just $100, I would probably stick to my hip condos, hehe. ) Plus its close enough for me to drive a mile or two to the metro station and take that to work. It’s something to consider.
So wish me luck with the search, and have a good weekend!
